Purpose Statement:
Northstar Behavioral Health is a team of professionals that specialize in medication for opioid use disorder through a multi-faceted programming structure for those battling opioid addiction and/or stimulant addiction.
Requirements:Job Duties and Responsibilities:(Essential Functions)
- Perform routine tests in clinical laboratories for use in the treatment and diagnosis of disease using standard techniques and equipment; perform related duties in laboratory to include storing and labeling specimens and using manual and automatic equipment to prepare specimens and perform analytical tests.
- Understand and comply with laboratory Quality Control and Quality Assurance policies and procedures for instrumentation and testing.
- Maintain detailed records of tests performed and report laboratory test results to appropriate personnel.
- Calibrate and perform routine maintenance on test equipment, clean and sterilize laboratory equipment, maintain laboratory supply of chemicals and reagents.
- Interact in a professional and courteous manner with doctors, nurses, and other personnel to provide technical guidance and address concerns. Interact with patients in the same professional and courteous manner.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education and/or experience: Candidate must have a BS in a life science (i.e. Biology, chemistry) or have at least 24 hours in lab credits. Candidate must meet and be able to document compliance with the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA) and COLA requirements for Lab Technician position in a High Complexity Lab.
