Job Summary:
Elevation Labs / Boomerang Laboratories is custom formulation manufacturing company. The QC Technician will work alongside other chemists in a Laboratory setting to analyze, test, and approve raw materials and production batches. This job will also crossover, as needed, into Microbiology and R&D.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Preferred Proficiencies: Wet Chemistry, Acid-Base Chemistry, Lab Equipment, Microsoft Office.
•Approve batch, storage, and line samples according to SOPs.
•Review all released batches and audit finished production batches.
•Receive, collect, and analyze vendor raw materials according to SOPs.
•Approve raw materials to vendor CoA's and release materials into inventory.
•Define the substrate, specifications for the substrate, raw material of the substrate, and specifications for manufacturing the solution and substrate together.
•Troubleshoot raw material discrepancies and report problems to the department head.
•Maintain an organized laboratory notebook that highlights key data and results.
•Responsible for conducting and monitoring stability studies.
•Work on multiple projects at the same time.
•Miscellaneous duties: cleaning of glassware, disinfection of work surfaces, maintenance of lab cleanliness and organization, maintenance of lab inventory and ordering of supplies.
•Evaluate and develop new in-process test method capabilities to support manufacturing process improvements.
•Facilitate and reinforce vigilant visibility to, and use of SOPs, by current and new team members. Qualifications:
•High School Diploma required.
•Bachelor's degree in Chemistry is preferred, but not required.
•Relevant work experience, preferably in a production facility.
•Will provide on the job training, but 1+ years of experience is preferred.
•History of analytical and lab testing which includes:
A.Chemical analysis experience
B.Reviewing safety data sheets
C.Writing and performing stability studies, product efficacy testing.
•Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, customer requirements, regulatory guidelines, operation instructions and procedure manuals. Must be able to create a free-flowing line of communication with internal staff and external customers.
•Excellent written and verbal communication.
•Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentage, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, statistics, and geometry.
•Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving loose variables in complex situations.
•To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite (i.e Word, Excel, Outlook).
•Sense of urgency in a manufacturing environment.
•Organizationally proficient.
•Eagerness to learn.
•Team player and works well with others.
Physical/Mental Demands:
•Regularly/Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, bend.
•Regularly/Frequently use hands to keyboard or type, handle materials, or manipulate tools.
•Regularly reach with hands and arms.
•Occasionally/Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and, infrequently, up to 50 pounds.
•Specific vision abilities required by this classification include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
•Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing abilities required by this classification includes those which permit the employee to discern verbal instructions and communicate effectively in person and by telephone.
•Requires composure and ability to prioritize and handle many urgent tasks and requests simultaneously with a high level of competence and accuracy.
•Maintain confidentiality. The physical demands identified above are representative of those that will be required to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
