Title: Lab Technician 1 - (Graveyard Shift)

Job Description Summary
This position is responsible for grading the finished product for all lines and communicating out of grade situations to Team Leader. Perform dispositions of out of grade product.
Job Description
Individuals in this position must:
  • Follows all plant safety policies and procedures

  • Actively involved in safety, participates in safety programs, engaged in safety activities, performs risk assessments, and demonstrates ownership as well as leadership in personal safety and the safety of other team members
  • Trains back-ups and new lab techs
  • Preforms daily filing and review of Q.A. data
  • Performs any special projects assigned
  • Always maintains a neat and clean work area and exhibit good personal hygiene

  • Performs all other duties assigned/requested by Q.A. Manager and/or Supervisor
  • Follows good housekeeping practices and GMP's
  • Wears required PPE.
  • Actively participates in AMD activities
  • Performs CCP checks for line one and two

  • Performs quality grading checks on assigned line, typically 2 checks per hour outlined in training manual
  • Rotates through all lab tech positions

Basic & Preferred Qualifications

  • Sanitation qualification is required. If you are not qualified, you will be trained.
  • Ability to accurately use the following equipment, and/or tools, including but not limited to: blender, weighing apparatus, pipettes, grinder, fryers, microwave, length grader, thermometer, dicromat, Minolta, Agtron, silver nitrate, and NIR.
  • Must be able to use a computer for data entry, report generation and research.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Read, understand, and obey all plant rules and practice safety as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Practice proper body mechanics and safe lifting techniques.
  • Be knowledgeable of the potential hazards and safety procedures associated with the task being performed.
  • Actively practice and abide by all Company work, safety, and personal hygiene rules and regulations as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Must be able to work independently and as a team player, be organized, and plan

Education
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

Language Skills
  • Effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing. Ability to understand instructions and follow directions in English.

A reasonable hourly estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $19.08 - $20.08
