Work Schedule:
Must be available 8am - 4:30pm Monday - Friday. The number of hours worked per week may vary from 35 - 45 hours.

Title: Contract Seed care Lab Technician
Job Description:
Entry level position. Work as a member of the Seedcare Institute Platform team by supporting application trials for product field validation and quality assessment for seed treatments in according with specific internal standards and protocols. Under direction of the Seedcare Platform Leads, prepare and develop slurries, analyze and summarize project studies and compile the findings in a detailed report, being prepared to make recommendations to team leads based on the results. Candidate should have the ability to assist on maintaining inventory. Support internal and external training sessions organized at Stanton SCI. Provide regular equipment assessment and overall housekeeping. Provide regular maintenance and housekeeping of application and quality assessment facilities/tools. Help identify, evaluate and implement new quality assessment testing tools for seed treatment application.
Qualifications:
AAS in technology or BS degree in agriculture discipline is preferred. Experience Treating Seed is desired. Experience in a research lab environment managing multiple projects is highly desired. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PPT) preferred. Must be details orientated with ability to manage complex testing with broad scope. Need to have a proactive mindset and be organized and well planned. Good communication skills and the ability to proactively propose solutions within team environment and during project execution. The selected candidate will be self-motivated to deliver quality results in potentially ambiguous situations.
Critical capabilities:
Preparation and efficient supply of large seed samples and product mixtures for seed treatment application studies and handling treated seeds for quality assessment. Ability to clearly understand projects scopes and objectives to perform high quality evaluation, documentation and reporting for assigned project. Make conclusions based on research data, archive in a format for timely access, and communicate effectively within team and with needed external partners to support business. Exhibit innovative capabilities to improve equipment operation. Good understanding about equipment maintenance and overall mechanics.
Work Conditions:
Conditions will vary from typical office work for project planning/reporting to lab or semi industrial environment. Candidate should have the ability to perform routine/repetitive tasks as well as the flexibility to complete innovative projects. Interaction with other lab and SCI team members while sharing lab space as needed. Support other team members for specific studies when needed.
