Lab Technician / Office Worker - We are looking for a meticulous Lab Technician who will be responsible for supporting our laboratory staff with the primary goal of optimizing lab procedures and succeeding in producing reliable test results.
To be successful as a Lab Technician you will need to be thorough when carrying out your duties, successfully maintaining records of laboratory processes and equipment, and generate reports to submit to the relevant laboratory manager.
You will also serve as an Office Worker, performing various tasks, including maintaining a pleasant work environment, ensuring high levels of organizational effectiveness, communication, and safety. You will undertake a variety of activities in the office ranging from filing, answering the phone to basic bookkeeping.
Responsibilities
- Purchasing responsibilities as assigned
- Create and Track Invoices
- Create Estimates/PO's
- Keep Track of Bills & Expenses and print Financial Statements
- Create Labels, Track Inventory.
- Maintain files and records so they remain updated and easily accessible
- Sort and distribute incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail (envelopes, packages, etc.)
- Customer service, collection calls; making and receiving calls; office duties
- Create BOL’s, shipping quotes, and shipping labels
- Providing analysis of lab observations
- Producing data and keeping accurate records of scientific work and results
- Proficient use of technical instruments and equipment
- Communicating scientific information appropriately, often through digital software
- Recognizing complications or issues and applying appropriate scientific methods to identify causes and solve problems
- Keeping labs clean, sanitized, and safe, maintaining scientific instruments, and ensuring that supplies are accessible for Chemists.

- Knowledge of Office responsibilities, systems, and procedures.
- Proficiency in MS Office, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
- Hands on experience with office machines (e.g. fax machines and printers).
- Familiarity with email scheduling tools, like Email Scheduler.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to learn specific, practical techniques and apply this knowledge.
- Good hand-eye coordination, to use technical equipment with accuracy.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
