Requirements for consideration:
Minimum Education:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Completion of Phlebotomy training required: completion certification from a Phlebotomy program or another Allied Health Training program, such as Medical Assistant, MLT or MT. OR documented foreign equivalent.
Years of Experience:
- 3 in a Patient Service Center environment, registration, specimen processing experience.
Certification:
- Basic Life Support upon start
- Completion certificate from a Phlebotomy program or another Allied Health training program, such as Medical Assistant, MLT or MT. OR documented foreign equivalent.
Job Responsibilities
- Monitoring variance, training new team members, overseeing work performed in the department and monitor staff productivity.
- This role is responsible for quality assurance and compliance of all lab safety procedures and process at all times.
- Provides excellent patient care and customer support by effectively communicating and working with other departments and the ICL leadership team.
- Performs proper specimen collection, follows standard protocol for patient identification, and demonstrates proper technique to provide an excellent standard of care.
- Completes registration for patients and customers as well as confirms accuracy and completeness of orders and information as it relates to patient care.
- Manages all specimen processing accurately and evaluates specimens for acceptability per policy. Insurances that all specimens received are done so accurately and prioritizes specimens after collections or as they arrive in the lab.
