With the advent of genomic sequencing, we can finally decode and process our genetic makeup. We now have more data than ever before but providers don't have the infrastructure or expertise to make sense of this data. We're on a mission to connect an entire ecosystem to redefine how genomic data is used in clinical settings. We are looking for a Supervisor who will be responsible for overseeing day to day management of the Lab Operations Associate Team.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Lab Operations Associate Team focusing primarily on the end-of-day shifts
  • Collaborate with supervisors to ensure adequate staffing to assist lab teams.
  • Work with the other team supervisors to improve the move process
  • Manage sample movement, storage, disposal, and tracking - escalating any issues
  • Maintain organization of freezer sample organization where appropriate.
  • Support the returns process including creating batches and interfacing with the returns overnight leadership
  • Become/Be an expert user of tube handler, tube picker, and slide imaging systems to help support the training of new associates on these devices.
  • Create manifests and pull lists to help with projects as well as transfers
  • Oversee Lab Operations Associate duties are complete such as biohazard waste disposal, chemical waste disposal, and lab decontamination.
  • Identify and document occurrences that deviate from defined procedures.
  • Respond to tickets in our ticketing system to resolve sample-based issues, escalating where needed.
  • Develop and maintain lab ops team processes and workflows as the lab needs.
  • Maintain competencies in all lab operation associate tasks.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • High School degree or equivalent required
  • Highly organized and systematic, superb attention to detail, and ability to complete tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Demonstrated problem-resolution and decision-making skills for operational and technical problems. 
  • Proven ability to learn new skills quickly and adapt to new processes smoothly.
  • Proven ability to communicate well across teams and functions.
