Description:
Lab Assistant/Specimen Processing
o Receives, centrifuge, aliquot and store laboratory specimen in compliance with the IRB approved protocol and the final version of the protocol-specific laboratory manual.
o Documents each stage of PK processing (i.e., in/out centrifuge, etc.).
o Affix specimen labels to PK cryovial tubes prior to initiating the specimen processing.
o Organize PK Cryovials
Particulars to the role is to receive biological specimens, (blood, urine, stool) from study participants and process them per protocol and lab manual. Each sample may or may not be manipulated into sub-samples or aliquots. Blood samples will be centrifuged and processed.
These individuals MUST have keen attention to detail, be able to function with multiple activities (multi-task), while keeping a clear and focused commitment to the task performing. Have excellent documentation skills and be 100% trainable as each study is similar yet different.
Self-starting, high ethical and moral IQ is needed, along with quality mindset, meaning if something is off or wrong, they say something or escalate rather than ignore or continue.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Qualifications
High School graduate or equivalent
• Must have at least 3-5 years of experience in specimen processing
