Camp Tannadoonah is a traditional overnight and day summer camp open to children ages 5-16. We do not specialize in one activity but we offer a wide variety! We focus on helping kids find their "spark" (their passions, hobbies, etc.) and providing youth with voice and choice. We want everyone who attends Camp T to feel welcome and accepted, no matter who they are. We give campers and staff the opportunity to unplug, be creative, and make the world a better place. Staff who work at Camp Tannadoonah learn how to manage teams build conflict resolution skills, among many others.

Job Description

Position: Camp Crew

Reports to: Kitchen Manager, Facilities Manager / Ranger, Health Officer, Assistant
Director, Camp Director, CEO

Purpose of Position: To work as part of the Food Service, Maintenance, and Program teams to ensure a quality camp experience for campers. To ensure that nutritious, attractive meals are prepared and served to campers and staff. To maintain the kitchen in a sanitary manner, according to State health regulations and standards. To work as part of the camp maintenance team, ensuring that the shower house and other bathrooms are maintained in a sanitary manner. To assist the
Facilities Manager / Ranger with maintenance tasks.

General Responsibilities:
1. Be a role model to campers and staff in attitude, behavior, and mindset.
2. To do what needs to be done.
3. Conduct themselves at all times in a manner which will reflect favorably on Camp Fire and Camp Tannadoonah.
4. To identify and meet camper needs.
5. To carry out the camp’s programs, goals, and mission safely, effectively, and enthusiastically.
6. All other general responsibilities of all staff members are listed are listed in the Camp Tannadoonah Code of Conduct.

Specific Responsibilities:
1. Kitchen Duties

- Be in the kitchen at least one hour before meals, or at the time set by the Kitchen Manager.
- Assist with proper food handling and storage, by ensuring that all food supplies are stored and labeled appropriately.
- Record all temperature logs for refrigerators, freezers, and the dishwasher, in accordance with state regulations .
- Assist in preparation and serving of all meals.
- Help unload and put away supplies.
- Wash and put away all dishes, utensils, and cookware.
- Sweep kitchen and dining room after every meal.
- Mop kitchen every evening, or more often if needed.
- Mop dining room once per week, or more often if needed.
- Wipe off dishwasher (including the top!) daily.
- Keep area around dishwasher clean and dry.
- Sanitize the counters and surfaces after every meal.
- Clean up dishes and kitchen after meals.
- Crush any cans or cartons, break down cardboard daily.

- Store all dish racks under the dishwasher counter.
- Empty slop bucket after every meal. Dig a new slop hole weekly.
- Clean food waste out of drains after every meal.
- Clean dishwasher sink rack (and under it) after every meal.
- Empty and clean dishwasher drain basket after every meal.
- Keep rolling carts clean.

2. Shower House Duties
- Thoroughly clean the shower house (both sides) at least once a day.
- Perform checks of the shower house during each activity period, and clean as needed.
- Empty trash cans as needed, and replace with clean trash bags.
- Sweep floors daily.
- Wipe down countertops with sanitizing solution at least daily.
- Replace soap, toilet paper, and paper towels as needed.
- Mop floors at least weekly, or more often if needed.
- Wipe high-touch surfaces with sanitizing solution at least daily.

3. Clean up staff lounge areas and Main Lodge bathrooms daily. This includes restocking soap, toilet paper, and paper towels, emptying trash, and sweeping / mopping as needed.

4. Assist the Facilities Manager / Ranger with repairs and maintenance tasks.
5. Be aware of, follow, and enforce all safety and security guidelines.
6. Be available and open to helping in other areas and programs around camp as needed, including assisting as a cabin counselor or day camp counselor as needed.
7. Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:
1. Prefer 18 years of age or older; must be at least 16 years of age.
2. ServSafe certification preferred.
3. Skill, knowledge, and experience in various tools, trades, and maintenance areas (e.g., painting, electrical, lawn maintenance, construction, etc.) preferred.
4. Self-motivated and organized. Willing to take instruction and direction.
5. Ability to adapt and adjust in an ever-changing work environment.
6. A desire to work with and be of service to children.
7. Enthusiasm, patience, sense of humor, and self-control.
8. CPR/AED and First Aid Certified (or willing to become certified) preferred.
9. Clean background check.

Essential Functions: For all seasonal positions at Camp Tannadoonah, employees must be able to perform the essential functions listed below. As yourself, “Can I do all of the following for the entire contract period?”

Pay: $375.00 - $550.00 per week
