SUMMARY

A Kitchen Server’s primary focus is to take food from the kitchen to the guest and communicate what is being served. This requires an in-depth understanding of the cuisine and the ability to articulate each dish properly while also communicating the ethos of the Kitchen with confidence.

DAILY


  • Understand and perform to the expectations of MOA’s Service, Food, Beverage and Wine manuals.

  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment. Keep the expo station clean and organized at all times. Handle all equipment with care and caution.

  • Work under the direction of the Expediter to ensure efficient communication to the Kitchen in regards to what is happening in the different areas of the restaurant.

  • Premeditate the needs of the Kitchen and our guests by acting with a sense of urgency at all times.

  • Possess the ability to explain all details of the menu: cooking processes, provenance of ingredients, culinary terms, etc. This is an essential component to this position as the menu will change with high frequency.

  • Participate in Pre-Shift meetings, asking questions of menu items that are new or may be unclear. Learn and understand the menu, being attentive to changes in the menu as well as the meal composition.

  • Assist with training of new team members by positively reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful and supportive peer coaching as needed.

  • Be ready and willing to assist fellow team members as situations arise to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.

  • Communicate with managers and staff to ensure the most pleasurable dining experience possible. Alert managers of any guest dissatisfactions or areas of potential conflict or deficiency.

  • Be able to properly manage time and resources and work efficiently with minimal supervision.

  • Perform all side work applicable to the pass. Check for any work that has been overlooked.

  • Ensure equipment is kept clean and in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the restaurant’s preventative maintenance programs.

  • Be able to properly manage time in order to multitask and work efficiently.

  • Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements of the restaurant, employees, and guests.

  • All other duties as assigned.

MISCELLANEOUS PROJECTS


  • Participate in all educational events provided by MOA Hospitality Group.

  • Provide mentorship to new team members.

  • Attend all scheduled meetings and bring forth ideas to continue the growth of MOA Hospitality Group.

QUALIFICATIONS


Education

Minimum Level:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Basic math and computer skills.


Relevant Work Experience

Minimum Level:

None required

Preferred Level:

1 year of related food, beverage and/or service management experience in a fine dining atmosphere.


Certification/Achievements

Food Sanitation Certification

Essential Functions

Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.

Strong knowledge of food.


Physical Requirements

Be able to stand/walk for long periods of time.

Able to work in a fast paced and changing environment.

Be able to lift 50 pounds numerous times and bend and reach frequently.
