Job description

Our Kitchen General Managers (KGM) lead our kitchen crew and manage the overall performance of the kitchen against defined metrics. This is a key leadership role, requiring a high degree of initiative, communication, management and independent judgment on a daily basis.
What you'll do:
Leadership-

  • Build a high performing team by hiring, onboarding coaching and developing team members. Ensure that team members are properly trained and get timely and consistent feedback on their performance.
  • Create an engaging and caring work environment for crew members.
  • Manage staffing levels and schedules to meet overall business throughput, quality and expense objectives.
  • Take an active role in managing the day to day operations in your assigned kitchen during key business hours to execute consistently great food. KGMs must be available to work peak hours (including opening and closing and some weekends) to monitor performance and give real-time feedback to crew.
  • Observe and coach crew members' performance on the line, assessing and validating production and quality, and ensuring efficiency
  • Maintain a high performing team using performance management, conflict resolution, kitchen audits, and by soliciting and providing feedback in crew member one-on-ones.
  • Clearly communicate team objectives around performance, output and quality, and holding the team accountable to kitchen performance expectations

Operational Excellence-
  • Implement All Day USA Operations policies, procedures and operational standards, while maintaining a high level of execution against these standards.
  • Lead the execution of changes in the Kitchen, including changes to menu, equipment, or process.
  • Maintain a safe and compliant workplace.
  • Ensure the organization, maintenance, and cleanliness of kitchens meets all internal and external health and safety standards.
  • Protect kitchen assets, employees and facilities by ensuring compliance by all Crew Members, Shift Leads and Training Specialists with the company's policies and procedures for health, safety, security, maintenance, and food safety, as well as all company guidelines and standards.
  • Strong business acumen. Clear understanding of business metrics and how to operationally meet or exceed.
  • Work closely with Field Operations Managers to ensure consistent application of process and policies across the market.
  • Manage employees, including scheduling, reviewing timecards for accuracy and compliance.
  • Administrative work related to kitchen administration, such as orders, weekly recaps, and email/slack upkeep.

  • Quality decision making skills; lead with integrity and sound judgment.
  • Reliable and diligent. You'll be leading a small team so every crew members' contribution is important!
  • Schedule flexibility. Crew members may be scheduled to work day and late night shifts, including weekends and our peak business hours from 9pm to 2am. It is expected the KGMs are available to a variety of these shifts each week to spend time with their team, including evenings, weekends and holidays, as needed.
  • Adaptability. Quick and enthusiastic learner: we are a start-up and regularly roll out new menus and operating procedures.
  • Ability to multitask and still produce high quality results.
  • A sense of urgency around completing daily tasks, with the ability to balance priorities- focus on the customer!
  • Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills
  • Tech savvy: you must be comfortable using modern kitchen equipment like industrial ovens, and navigating multiple electronic applications.
  • Requires occasional travel locally within and outside of the market depending on the needs of the business.
  • Prior experience with food service or understanding of food safety; at least 1 year of experience in a lead or management role.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift upwards of 50 lbs
  • Essential frequent physical requirements such as standing for prolonged periods of time, bending, kneeling, etc
  • Ability to observe details at a close range
