Kitchen Assistant
Hedges Family Estate is a family owned and operated winery on Red Mountain that promotes Biodynamic, regenerative agriculture, and biodynamic winemaking. Hedges Family Estate’s message of terroir focused wines, responsible farming, and creating a joyful and meaningful experience for its customers has been spread across the globe since 1987. The Kitchen Assistant is an integral part of the winery, assisting our Chef de Cuisine to bring delicious dishes to our customers. We are seeking a fun, energetic and positive person who is passionate about food and excited to work in a winery environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepping all necessary food items for the daily menu. This can include washing, peeling, cutting, chopping, making sauces, mixing, sauteing, butchering, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards
- Line cooking and plating
- Setting up, stocking stations and supplies
- Cleaning prep areas in accordance with health department standards
- Be willing to participate in other winery programs, such as gardening, warehouse, cat care, chicken care, and events
- Wash utensils and dishes and make sure they are stored appropriately
- Clean the food preparation equipment, floors and other kitchen tools or areas
- Dispose of trash
- Provide social media content, when applicable, to the Ecommerce director relating to dinners, events, tasting room specials, etc…
QUALIFYING SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
- Passion for food, cooking, and learning
- Food handler’s card
- Food prep or prior kitchen experience preferred
- Be ready to learn and apply skills in a timely manner
- Extensive experience in customer service with a deep understanding of fine dining standards
- Ability to work weekends and nights when necessary
- Ability to work 35-40 hours per week and more when necessary

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.50 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
