Kid's Buyer
Our Kid's Buyer will run the kid's division in a dynamic fast-paced work environment. Our Kid's Buyer - possess strong communication skills and act as a liaison between the CEO's, Internal Business Partners, and the Vendor Community. They must also possess strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail. They are resourceful and confident in problem solving. They must be able to work well independently as well as in a team.

Buyer Responsibilities:

  • Select and procure merchandise in conjunction with Owner's in the assigned area of responsibility. (Import + Domestic).
  • Provide operational support.
  • Attends market visits to select and negotiates product that meets the customer’s needs and is priced competitively.
  • Independently builds vendor relationships. Establishes a positive relationship in order to effectively influence vendors. This includes heavy interaction with vendors to solve problems and follow-up.
  • Analyzes e-commerce business, including selling reports, to provide recommendations to the buyer.
  • Prepares merchandise line sheets and has interest in following fashion trends.
  • Maintains planned receipt flow on a consistent basis. Tracks when merchandise is being received and uses judgment to make flow issue call outs to buyer when needed. Ensures adherence to scheduled shipping windows and negotiates late shipping discounts.
  • Lead on outreach & order creation for Re-Orders & Re-Cuts.
  • Email correspondences in a timely and communicative manner.
  • Assist with day-to-day administrative tasks.
  • Support with style reporting, troubleshooting/investigation and buy meeting prep.
  • Lead on any special projects within the department.
  • Build strong relationships with buyers, sales analysts, product developers and designers.
  • Complete ad hoc assignments as directed by management.

Admin/Production Duties

  • Enters purchase orders into appropriate systems in an accurate and timely manner for buyers across multiple departments.
  • Follows up on all late orders and upcoming shipments and completes balances as needed.
  • Completes all purchase order modifications including but not limited to delivery extensions, cancellations, and cost & retail changes.
  • Works with internal departments to resolve issues (i.e. Accounts Payable, PO departments/chain moves, Planning, Distribution and Fulfillment Centers, etc.)
  • Communicates with vendors via phone and email regarding PO modifications/changes, PO shipment statuses as well as any other inquiries.
  • Communicates with logistics to ensure vendors ship correctly.
  • Manages costing with Design and status reports.
  • Creates and runs reports for buyers as needed (i.e. On Order, Sales, etc.)
  • Organizes and maintains merchandise samples and sample space for Buyers including returning samples to vendors.
  • Assists in preparing for Style Out and Strategy meetings by gathering samples, preparing selling recaps, etc.
  • Assists Buyers with special projects as needed (i.e. recap projects, trend recaps, trend boards, etc.)
  • Performs general tasks such as printing, filing, etc.
  • Maintains positive relationships across different areas of business.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • Ability to learn and adapt to new computer systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Bachelor’s degree required or relevant working experience. Experience working in retail, preferred. Candidates should be comfortable utilizing all Microsoft Office programs with a basic understanding of Microsoft Excel. Our buying teams regularly travel to market in LA, as well as various other locations to perform market research and competitive shopping.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
