QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires knowledge of how the Community School framework can support identified needs as indicated by the Local Control and Accountability Plan, California Dashboard, Multi-tiered System of Supports, and Differentiated Assistance; school structures, systems, evidence informed practices, and service delivery designed to enhance positive educational experiences and involve the student, family, other team members, school personnel, and community resources; professional standards of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and Educational Codes.
Must possess the ability to work independently and with school personnel, and handle multiple tasks with attention to detail while working under pressure; communicate effectively through clear and effective speaking and writing yes; manage time and tasks appropriately; work effectively with a variety of people from different educational, social cultural, and ethnic backgrounds with the ability to provide appropriate assistance and/or suggestions; appropriately adjust work hours to meet the needs of the community; forge appropriate partnerships with educators, families, students, and community members to establish, advocate for, and implement local policies; maintain records, prepare and submit reports as mandated by law and as directed or required for related grant/funding opportunities; maintain current knowledge of, interpret, and implement applicable laws, codes, policies some procedures, and district regulations governing work related to the position; establish and maintain effective working relationships with multifaceted public and private agencies and District departments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Implementation and oversight of SBHIP and CCSPP; support school sites assessing school community needs and assets to oversee the integration of services to address barriers to learning by collecting data related to students served by Medicare, students in Tier 2 and tier 3 interventions, students refer to mental health support, agreements with MCP's, universal screeners, school climate and California Healthy Kids' Surveys, and students served at sites by Interagency Partners; evaluate services to identify gaps, build on existing structures and supports, and monitor outcomes and effectiveness of partnerships then manages the development and implementation of new programs and appropriate supports; works with district administrators, site administrators, teachers, Community based organizations, parents, and students to identify barriers to learning, available resources, and programs that are community responsive; initiates, facilitates, and strengthens programs, strategies, and related community resources to support holistic student development by providing leadership and planning, implementing, and coordinating district wide Community School initiatives; promotes, develops, and ensures services are maximized to the extended capacity at school sites; aligns and integrates other district wide initiatives, grants, and structures with Department of Instruction goals; acts as the lead advisor and district liaison between school administration, key educational partners, staff, students and the community; leads, organizes, and attends various school meetings and other outreach and grant related activities; effectively communicates program goals, logistics, requirements, and needs with all educational partners: school site and administrators, partners, parents, and students; engages community-based organizations and partnerships to address critical need and support of student achievement; reviews, supports, and maintains MOUs with interagency partners and service-based providers; works with side administration to provide oversight, support, and monitoring for site based Community School coordinators with direct and indirect supervision and coordinated meetings; trains and support service providers to understand and align programs with school structures, systems, curriculum, and goals; performs responsibilities related to program evaluation, reporting, program recommendations, and funding requirements based on evaluative outcomes; prepares reports, documents, and other written materials for the purposes of documenting compliance requirements, providing written references, and slash or conveying information to appropriate district leadership, personnel, and teams; engages in professional development opportunities regarding the development of full service Community Schools; performs other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: A MASTER'S DEGREE IN SOCIAL WORK, A BEHAVIORAL SCIENCE, COUNSELING, EDUCATION, OR ANOTHER RELATED FIELD IS REQUIRED AND MUST BE SUBMITTED WITH YOUR APPLICATION, PREFERABLY A PUPIL PERSONNEL SERVICES CREDENTIAL.
A CRIMINAL HISTORY CHECK WILL BE REQUIRED OF THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT.
DUTIES OF POSITION: Under the general direction of the Director of Equity and Inclusion, or designee, the position plans, implements, supervises, organizes, and directs the daily operations of the Student Behavioral Health Incentive Program (SBHIP) Grant and the California Community Schools Partnership Program (CCSPP). The person in this classification will work independently on many projects to develop processes with Interagency Partners and Managed Care Practitioners (MCP). This position is expected to work collaboratively with school site administration and Interagency Partners to ensure the smooth delivery of services at sites. The incumbent will establish billing practices and manage the collaboration of site resources to deliver school designated services. Performs related work as required. This job classification exercises responsibility for assuring that Community School activities and functions are completed in an accurate and timely manner and within established schedules/timelines and within compliance of all applicable laws and District policies.
STARTING SALARY: $9,597.72 (monthly)
NUMBER OF MONTHS: 12 (to begin as soon as possible)
NUMBER OF HOURS: 8 (daily working hours to be 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.)
