We are looking for a Key Account Manager/Strategic Account Director, located in Southeast Michigan. In this impactful role, you will lead our automotive customer relationships for new and existing business for our connected vehicle platform. You will make a direct impact on the direction of our company when it comes to the exciting connected vehicle space. Are you ready for the challenge?

The right candidate must have a “go for it” attitude, excellent communication skills, a strong and fresh technical background and understand the automotive telematics/mobility industry. You will be interacting with customers and partners at a functional and executive level. In this role, you will drive and lead overall alignment between all Aeris departments and the customer. You are a proven and exceptional team player, and intellectually curious, looking for cross-functional opportunities. You are an excellent leader of virtual teams, are self-motivated and operate well independently. You’ll have experience working remotely with a track record of successfully gaining acceptance and being a strategic contributor despite the distance.

Responsibilities / accountability:

  • Sets and manages strategic account direction for Key OEM
  • Owns day to day account management for an existing key OEM
  • Manages customer interaction – on-site a few days per week both for meetings and being part of OEM team
  • Determines drivers and OEM's needs and desires for both existing and new customers
  • Drives Aeris solutions and manages new engagements with existing and new OEM’s
  • Drives communication internally and externally to fulfil customer requirements
  • Understand the competition and other global connected car offerings
  • Crisply identify unique selling points and key value propositions
  • Work directly with OEMs to manage legal issues including contracts
  • Provides information for management by preparing weekly reports and ongoing analyses, and both short-term and long-term sales forecasts.
  • Helps manage overall program profitability between Aeris and OEM customers
  • Strong presentation and speaking skills
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending meet ups, conferences, workshops, staying abreast of innovations, establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in a business-related discipline or engineering, MBA a plus
  • 10+ years' experience, at least 5 years of automotive connected vehicle experience with OEM or Tier 1 supplier
  • Experience with embedded products and hardware, OTA implementations, LTE, GSM, Wi-Fi, and working with service providers/operators, cloud providers and hardware vendors
  • A passion for excellent customer service
  • A keen understanding and passion for next generation services and solutions driving the Automotive Industry
  • A desire to take charge and lead
  • A "roll up the sleeves" attitude with a startup spirit
  • Very strong written communication skills
  • Team player with excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues and cross-functional teams, and third parties
  • Willing to travel 50%
