Kennel Attendant
Job Description: Bark University is seeking hard-working, knowledgeable, compassionate, and detail-oriented people to work in our kennel. A Kennel Attendant directly interacts and monitors the animals in our care to ensure their health and happiness during their stays. Bark University relies upon the knowledge of our kennel team to identify behaviors in dogs and ensure their safety while participating in our playgroups.
Availability: Bark University, INC is a boarding, daycare, training, and grooming facility that is open 7 days a week and all major holidays.
Full-time shifts:
- 5:30a-3p
- 6:30a-3:30p
- 7a-4p
- 8a-5p
- 9a-6:30p
- 11a-8p
Part-time shifts:
- 6:30a-12p
- 8a-2p
- 1p-6:30p
- 3p-8p
Responsibilities:
- Cleaning and sanitizing crates, office kennel, back kennel, socialization areas, and elimination areas of loose debris and excrement
- Cleaning and sanitizing client and kennel dishes and laundry
- Observing and interacting with client and rescue dogs while they are engaged in socialization activities
- Organizing kennel equipment and documents
- Feeding and watering all animals
- Providing prescribed medication to animals
- Recognizing animal behaviors and reacting to early signs of agitation, fear, anxiety, pain, and illness
- Relaying information to management and front office regarding the condition of the animals
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Requirements:
- High school Diploma/GED or equivalent degree
- Friendly, positive, and professional attitude
- 1-2 years pet care experience
- Preferred 1-2 years dog kennel experience
