JOB OVERVIEW:Full Time Position with competitive wages and bonus opportunities based on performance. EXPECTATIONS: As a Daycare Attendant at DePAW, you are part of a team who are focused on the daily care, health, and safety of every dog under our care. You will be taught to read canine body language and understand canine group dynamics. You’ll report to work over a variety of shifts to handle, amongst other duties, running the Daycare group, walking dogs, giving them potty breaks, feeding, and administering medicines, and cleaning their rooms. We’re looking for serious-minded, detail-oriented individuals who are always wanting to learn and improve.
-You will work in our Daycare and Boarding areas to care for and ensure the safety of the guests in our facility.
-Supervise activities of multiple dogs throughout the day.
-Walk dogs on lead to and from play and exercise areas.
-Monitor closely and resolve any potential conflicts or escalations between pets and remove one or more dogs from the situation as needed.
-Engage in play activities with pets including walks, agility, recall, basic obedience games, and other enrichment activities.
-Follow all safety standards with regards to handling guests, and an array of behaviors, as set forth by the company.
-Ensure that all guests are receiving appropriate amounts of food and water.
-Maintain a sanitary and healthy environment by following the standards of cleaning, disinfecting, and sanitizing all pet enclosures, exercise yards, and common areas.
-Clean up dog poop, urination, and any other pet waste throughout your shift.
-Monitor guest’s health by daily charting of eating, weight and overall health.
-Pay specific attention to special handling notes (Medication, Aggression, Separate for Feeding, etc.).
-Immediately communicate to direct supervisors and General Manager when a guest may be ill.
-Operate washer and dryer to clean pet belongings, towels, etc.
-Alert Management when levels of inventory are low, including cleaning products, and other resort use items.
-Ensure that the property is kept clean and well maintained (trash removal, snow removal, yard maintenance).
-Keep resort, aisles, drains, carts, shelves, sinks, floors, furniture, counters and glass clean, sanitary and free of clutter/debris.
-Alert Management of any safety or operational issues.
-Keep informed of important notices by reviewing employee notifications at the beginning or end of each shift.
-Consult with other departments about guests, safety issues, or other resort initiatives.
-Willing and able to communicate directly with Management, co-workers, and clients, both written, orally.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
-Handling dogs that pull, jump up and bark.
-Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
-Must be able to stand and walk 8 -10 hours per work shift.
-Must be comfortable around ALL types of breeds and sizes of dogs
SKILLS:

-Monday thru Friday and Weekend Availability Required
-Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, which will require day, evening, holiday and weekend shifts.
