Our fast-paced 24-hour emergency clinic is looking to hire a full/part time Kennel Attendants to our team! We are looking for a kind and attentive individual to fill the position of Kennel Attendant so that we can ensure the health and happiness of the animals in our care.
If you want to be successful as a Kennel Attendant, you need to be able to anticipate the needs of animals and provide for their care. In the end, a good Kennel Attendant will be able to adapt their care to the specific physical, emotional, and behavioral challenges presented by the animals in their charge.
The ideal candidate should possess a flexible schedule, being available to work during various shifts throughout the week, including days, afternoons, and nights from Monday to Saturday. However, they will have Sundays and major holidays off.
The positions available are one full time and one part time both during the day. The standard shift we offer is from 7am to 3/4pm
Responsibilities:
- Provide daily care and attention to animals in the kennel
- Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and common areas
- Feed and water animals according to their specific needs
- Monitor the health and well-being of animals and report any concerns to techs
- Handle animals safely and securely during various procedures
- Maintain accurate records of animal care and behavior
Skills:
- Experience in animal care is preferred
- Knowledge of animal restraint techniques and safe handling practices
- Familiarity with veterinary procedures and terminology is a plus
- Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments confidently
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or walking
