Junior Software Engineer

New York Cancer Specialists (NYCBS), a prominent and respected Oncology/Hematology group, is seeking a Junior Software Engineerto join a well-established and growing pure sub-specialty practice with academic affiliation. Clinics from Southampton to NYC. Practice manages a freestanding outpatient 7-day-per-week Cancer Center with extensive chemotherapy administration, Radiation Oncology, Pharmacy, and Research department.
We are seeking a Junior Software Engineer to help spearhead the development of healthcare applications, working directly with other developers and other technical stakeholders. This is a fast-paced role and we are looking for an enthusiastic developer to join our team.
In this role you will:

• Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC)
• Develop Python and JavaScript applications
• Work on additional application types as needed
• Grow to be the SME for multiple application types and projects
• Help evaluate project proposals and help scope solutions
• Heavily focus on hands-on development
• Participate in code testing
• Deploy quality code into Production
• Monitor deployed code

We require:

• 1-3 years of experience
• Bachelor of Computer Science, or a related field.
• Notable Experience in Python, JavaScript, and coding APIs
• Understanding of an agile development framework
• Understanding of healthcare data extracts, FHIR, HL7, spec sheets related to demographics and clinical data is a plus
• Experience in Selenium, CSS, and HTML is a plus
• Programmatic data transformation (R!, SQL) skills are a plus.
• Understanding of EHR/EMR systems and healthcare data standards is a plus
• SFTP server management experience is a plus.

Hours: Monday–Friday
