We are looking to hire a Junior Software Developer to join HonestMed, one of the fastest-growing e-commerce companies in the medical supply space. The Junior Software Developer is responsible for assisting in the development and maintenance of our software systems, contributing to the growth and success of our online retail business. This includes working on various software projects, optimizing website design, and supporting marketing campaigns with technical solutions.
Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:
1. Software Development: Collaborate with the development team to design, develop, and maintain software solutions that support our e-commerce platform.
2. Coding: Write clean and efficient code in Python and PHP.
3. Database Management: Work with SQL to design and manage database schemas, as well as write queries for data retrieval and manipulation.
4. Web Development: Contribute to website design and optimization efforts to enhance user experience and drive online revenue.
5. Testing: Participate in testing activities, including writing unit tests, to ensure the quality and reliability of our software.
6. Collaborate with software engineers, project managers, and other team members to meet project requirements and deliver high-quality software.
7. Continuously expand your software development skills and adapt to emerging technologies and industry trends.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of Python and PHP programming languages.
- Some familiarity with the Laravel framework would be nice.
- Proficiency in SQL and basic database concepts.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently when necessary.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated and eager to learn and grow as a Software Developer.
Preferred (but not required) Skills:
- Experience with e-commerce platforms or related projects.
- Knowledge of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Version control system experience (e.g., Git).
- Exposure to AWS services such as RDS, SQS, S3, Lambdas.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong proficiency in PHP, Python, and SQL.
- Previous experience in software development, with a focus on web-based applications.
Working Conditions:
- Normal office hours from 9 am to 5 pm.
- Ability to work extended hours as necessary in case of emergencies.
- Light physical effort, including working at a computer for extended periods.
- Be able to be on-site in Oceanside, CA
Salary and Benefits:
- Salary range is $90,000 to $100,000.
