Knight Insurance Group is seeking a highly skilled Junior Software Developer to join our team. As a Junior Software Developer, you will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, manage end-to-end development of user-facing applications, and leverage cloud technologies. Daily on-site presence is required for this role.
Pay Range: $64,480-$80,000 Per Year. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire and will be dependent on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, experience, education, credentials, and licensure when applicable.
Job Description
What you'll do as a Junior Software Developer:
- Front-end Development: Utilize any of Python, JavaScript, PHP, and CSS for developing responsive and intuitive user interfaces. Proficiency in front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue.js is highly valued.
- Database Architecture & Management: Design and implement robust database architectures. Expertise in relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB) is essential.
- Server Hosting & Cloud Architecture: Architect and deploy applications on cloud-based servers for scalability and security. Proficiency in cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is highly valued.
- End-to-End Development: Engage in the complete software development lifecycle, ensuring clean, maintainable code following best practices.
- Business Interaction: Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical specifications and actionable plans.
- Documentation & Team Collaboration: Maintain detailed technical documentation. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including designers, testers, and project managers.

Experience and Qualifications
What we look for in our Junior Software Developer:
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, PHP, Java, or others
- Strong expertise in database architecture, including designing and optimizing relational and/or non-relational databases with a focus on security
- In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) for architecting and securing scalable cloud environments
