Nicklaus has a long history working with private and municipal clients within the desert southwest and has grown to service federal clients throughout the United States. Nicklaus Engineering’s corporate office is located in Yuma, AZ with satellite offices in San Diego, CA and El Centro, CA. This position is for our San Diego office.
Position Summary:
Our company is looking for a junior scientist or engineer who is highly organized, self-directed, and motivated with a reliable work ethic. The candidate must have a strong scientific or engineering background, excellent written and oral communication skills, and be able to analyze problems, conduct research, and prepare technical reports. Responsibilities will include gathering and preparing samples, performing analysis, recording all progress, reviewing results, and summarizing findings into reports. A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geology, Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field is required. The ideal candidate should have demonstrated experience in environmental sampling techniques and environmental compliance regulations. Additionally, experience working with federal clients such as DoD, DOI, and DHS is preferred, and Navy experience is a plus.
Responsibilities of the position:
- Collect, synthesize, analyze, manage, and report environmental data, such as pollution emission measurements, atmospheric monitoring measurements, meteorological or mineralogical information, or soil or water samples.
- Review and implement environmental technical standards, guidelines, policies, and formal regulations that meet all appropriate requirements.
- Monitor environmental impacts of development activities.
- Design or direct studies to obtain technical, environmental information about planned projects.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
- Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
