Job Description
We are a full service Managed Service Provider (MSP), looking for a Junior NOC technical resource that knows what it takes to be successful in a fast-paced environment where customer service is the key to our success. Our search is for an individual that is personable and an out of the box thinker looking for creative ways to resolve technical issues within our client environments.
As a Junior NOC Engineer, you will play a crucial role in monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting our clients' network infrastructure. Working within our Network Operations Center, you will gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with senior engineers to provide exceptional service and support.
Responsibilities
Monitoring and Incident Response:
- Proactively monitor network infrastructure for performance, security, and availability.
- Respond promptly to incidents, escalating as necessary to ensure timely resolution.
Troubleshooting:
- Diagnose and resolve network issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
- Resolve escalations from lower tiers.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to troubleshoot complex problems.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, issues, and resolutions.
- Contribute to knowledge base articles to enhance team efficiency.
Technical Lead:
- Resource will be assigned a list of clients as their technical lead.
- Perform monthly preventive maintenance to confirm client's environment is running securely and efficiently.
- Advise account management team of any recommendations to improve clients performance or save them money.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to address client needs and deliver exceptional service.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to implement network upgrades and improvements.
Customer Communication:
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand and address their concerns.
- Provide timely updates on incident resolution progress.
Professional Development:
- Actively pursue professional development opportunities to enhance technical skills and stay current with industry trends.
- Participate in training programs to expand knowledge of network technologies.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is preferred. However, equivalent work experience can be considered as well.
- Knowledge of networking protocols and network infrastructure is essential.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools such as ConnectWise Automate/ScreenConnect, Auvik, Immybot, and Liongard is preferred.
- Troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze network issues are important.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Network+ and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) are preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft networking and MSP (Managed Service Provider) is a plus.
