Job Summary
Our home office has an immediate need for a Junior Automation & Controls Engineer to join our Electrical, Automation & Controls Engineering department. This individual will be responsible for planning, organizing, and performing parts of a detailed electrical and controls design projects within the pharmaceutical industry.
What You'll Do:
- This position receives general administrative direction from the division manager and is responsible for process design of a few projects of varying complexity.
- Research applicable industry standards, preliminary and detailed engineering designs.
- Review work of project design team, check progress of work and alert managers to change of scope and additional services.
- Coordinate some aspects of project document completion.
- Direct CAD designers for the preparation of construction drawings.
- Possess ability to interpret applicable codes.
- Learn to work with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception to codes is required.
- Coordinate project design with other engineering disciplines
Your Background Should Include:
- Bachelors of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Mechatronics, Biological).
- A minimum of 2 years of applicable Controls Engineering experience within industrial markets (chemical, food/beverage, pharmaceutical, power generation, etc.).
- Familiarity with Electrical Component and Field Devices (combination starters, VFD's, MCC's, pushbuttons/selector switches, heat trace, etc.).
- Familiarity with electrical Construction Drawing sets including but not limited to single lines, grounding plans, lighting plans, instrument and power location plans, conduit block and network architecture drawings, PLC panel and motor wiring diagrams.
- Familiarity with ISA standards and ability to interpret and contribute to development of P&ID.
- Rockwell RSLogix 5, RSLogix500, RSLogix5000, FactoryTalk View SE & ME, RSlinx.
