We are looking for a Junior Maintenance Technician to join our team at our Franklin Park, IL facility.This position is responsible for learning and applying skills to maintain equipment and facilities to operate in the safest and most productive electro-mechanical condition, supporting continuous improvement, production strategies and plant reliability of manufacturing equipment and building maintenance. The Junior Maintenance Tech will be expected to form strong relationships with the support department, contractors and visitors, helping identify solutions which will benefit both the customer and the company.
Pay Range: $26.00 to $28.00 per hour

The Junior Maintenance Tech will be expected to form strong relationships with the support department, contractors and visitors, helping identify solutions which will benefit both the customer and the company.

Duties and responsibilities:
- Practice and comply with all plant and maintenance department safety procedures, including but not limited to: Lock-Out - Tag-Out; Arc Flash and Hot Work Permits
- Understand the concept of Permit Required Confined Spaces and assists with proper alternate entry of re-classified confined spaces when necessary.
- Assist in making improvements and suggestions to optimize maintenance program.
- Learn methodologies including, but not limited to root cause analysis (RCA), break down failure analysis (BDA) and cause maps to identify and resolve equipment issues.
- Develop and demonstrate an understanding of various diagrams which may include but are not limited to: Single Line Electrical Drawings, mechanical and electrical equipment schematics, pneumatics, hydraulics, Pipe and Instrumentation Diagrams (P ID's) and etc.
- With assistance, applies equipment care concepts of autonomous maintenance (AM) including but not limited to: Cleaning, Inspection and Lubrication (CIL) and basic parts and tools usage.
- Attend maintenance meetings. Provide ideas and support to solve issues that are limiting production ability to meet plant objectives.
- Provide troubleshooting assistance across all operations on campus.
- Provide assistance to the maintenance support staff during vacation periods with emergency/high priority job planning as needed.
- Interact with the maintenance and production teams to identify and develop effective cost saving measures initiatives.
- Help develop and maintain maintenance work procedures as needed for plant equipment.
- Evaluate machine failures and assemble Root Cause Analysis teams involving the maintenance support staff to eliminate the cause of repeat problems that consume resources and production time.
- May perform other duties as required.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Some forma technical education on Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Motors or Electrical for manufacturing is required.
- 2 to 3 years of working in a manufacturing environment.
