Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Junior Loan Officer. As a Junior Loan Officer, you will assist in the loan application process, conduct credit analysis, and provide exceptional customer service to clients. Responsibilities:
- Assist in the loan application process, including gathering necessary documentation and verifying applicant information
- Conduct credit analysis to assess the risk level of loan applicants
- Collaborate with senior Loan Officers to evaluate loan applications and make recommendations
- Provide excellent customer service by answering client inquiries and addressing concerns
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of loan applications and client interactions
- Recommend and outline terms of loan. Inform prospective borrowers of loan commitments
- Determine collateral needs and payment plans for members applying for loans
- Determine eligibility of loan co-maker from co-maker’s statement and credit rating
- Answer questions for members throughout the process. Explain the loan process to include loan options, insurance required on credit union loan products, loan policies, interest rates, payoffs, etc.
- Notify applicant of loan decision. Correspond with members, applicants and creditors to resolve questions regarding application information
- Verify the accuracy of loan amounts and repayment terms on approved loan applications
- Maintain a filing system and procedures to monitor that the required documentation is received and maintained appropriately and according to policies and procedures
- Notify vendor to place security interest of the credit union on title document. Ensure that the documentation on titles is accurate and up-to-date
- Input loans into the system including indirect lending loans. Complete loan documents and disburse loans when approved
- In charge of ELT titling – tracking and releasing
- Attends seminars and conferences pertaining to area of responsibility as required and requested
- Stay informed about current lending practices, industry regulations, and fair housing regulations
Requirements:
- At least one year of lending experience
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform credit analysis
- Familiarity with financial sales techniques and customer service principles
- Proficiency in using accounting software for loan tracking and reporting
- Understanding of fair housing regulations and compliance requirements
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Basic math skills for calculations related to loan applications
