JOB DESCRIPTION

High end, boutique Interior Design firm is seeking Junior Interior Designer to assist our founder and principal designer. The candidate will assist in all areas from preparing presentations, office organization, running errands, communicating with workrooms, assisting in the Noel Pittman Design boutique/showroom, answering customer and client emails, pulling online shop orders, sourcing fabrics, trims, furnishings and finishes as directed by principal designer. Jr. designer to work closely with the firm’s project manager to maintain project specification schedules and order tracking. Applicants need experience working in Interior Design or to have completed an education in Interior Design or architecture. Candidate needs to be a highly detailed oriented, organized team player able to jump between tasks/projects.

ABOUT THE FIRM:

Noel Pittman is a boutique Interior Design firm with high end projects in Texas, Colorado and abroad. We create classic, timeless spaces incorporating color and pattern. We emphasize comfort in our designs and cater to our clients’ unique personalities. Noel participated in the 2022 Dallas Kips Bay Show House, has been featured in Southern Living Magazine, Veranda, Paper City, Modern Luxury Dallas, and numerous online publications.

In the fall of 2023, Noel Pittman opened the doors to a brick & mortar shop on West Lovers Lane. The showroom boutique features an assortment of globally sourced one-of-a-kind pieces, furniture, antiques, accessories, and tabletop items curated by Noel.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Work closely with the project manager to gather quotes, track orders and enter thorough product information into project tracking spreadsheets.

· Gather fabric samples, finish samples, lighting, and furniture specifications at the direction of Principal Designer.

· Order and pick up materials for presentation and design library (fabrics, stone, hardware, rugs etc.)

· Assist project manager in maintenance of digital project schedules.

· Maintain organized project bags with all specifications organized by room and type.

· Maintain organized sample library and office supply inventory.

· Communicate with workrooms to gather yardage requirements, confirm workroom costs, and lead times.

· Maintain organized lists of items at various workrooms, status and project.

· Assist in preparation of digital and physical client presentations with schemes including specifications, reference images, furniture plans and elevations.

· Create tear sheets for presentations with record of vendor, finish, dimensions, and cost.

· Populate Instagram planner with appropriate tags/credits using images provided by senior designer.

· Run errands as needed including trips to the Design Center, supervise work at client homes, pick-ups and deliveries to workrooms, contractor visits.

· Assist customers, take payment, and package orders in the boutique.

· Pull orders placed online from the shop inventory and prepare shipping label to be shipped to customers.

REQUIREMENTS:

· A College degree is required for this position.

· Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Windows 10, and Cloud Based Storage.

· Working knowledge of Shopify or an aptitude for learning new technology.

· Experience or education working in Interior Decorating, the Interior Design Industry, or a Showroom.

· Professionalism – candidate must treat others with respect and consideration, accept responsibility and fulfill commitments.

· Dependability & Punctuality – Arrives to work, meetings and appointments on time. Commits to longer hours when necessary to reach goals or when in the process of an installation. Ensure responsibilities are covered when absent.

· Initiative & Organization – volunteers readily and acts as a team player. Sets goals/initiatives and maintains an organized schedule to complete work tasks.

· Strategic Thinking & Judgement – Displays willingness to make thoughtful, timely decisions. Includes appropriate management in decision making process when necessary.

All employees are expected to be positive, contributing members of the NPD Team. NPD is a global company, which means it may be necessary to work outside of our normal operating hours.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
