Overview:
We are seeking full-time, in office Jr. Graphic Designer responsible for print graphic designs for food and gift packaging as a part of our Design Team. The designer should be experienced with the fundamentals of design and typography. This person must possess the ability to learn and follow Houdini established design processes and rules, but also understand when it's necessary to deviate from those rules.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Create packaging concepts and typography according to company design Standards and FDA regulations
Create/Develop private label product artwork for packaging and gifting.
Compose and produce work in a fast-paced environment where speed and accuracy are required.
Support and maintain the implementation of cataloging, archiving and backup systems.
Support the Design Department in meeting deadlines for all presentations and seasonal Production.
Generate a high volume of samples/mock-ups and prepare layouts for design selection and approval.
Provide product/concept renderings
Assist with and creating print ready files for final print production.
Take initial creative direction, present concepts, and designs and deliver polished final assets
Ability to:

Basic understanding of production design standards and building files to specifications
Knowledge of:
Packaging design and development
Proficient w/Mac & PC platforms
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator and Photoshop
MS-Office including Outlook and Excel
Education:
Bachelor's degree in graphic design or completion of a two-year Graphic Design Certificate or equivalent.
Experience:
Minimum two years experience in Graphic Design
