Forge Forward is looking for a Junior Data Scientist to support a client in Patuxent River, MD. Requires on-site support at the client, four days a week. This position requires an active Secret security clearance. To have a clearance you must be a US citizen. If you do not meet both of these requirements, you cannot be considered for this position.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Data Science or a related field, with 0-1 year of experience. Position functions at the cross-section of data science and organizational development and is not a strict technical position. Supports the company's digital transformation effort with the client. Supports ongoing organizational assessment and data analysis to support strategic decision making. Supports efforts to scope solutions for organizational challenges. Provides expertise in data analysis and visualization. Evaluates data requirements and assess data quality. Develops data models and frameworks to serve as use case for software developers.
Functional Skills and Responsibilities:
- Gather, assess, and structure a variety of data types to identify opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate with team members to collect and analyze data
- Work with a team of analysts and other associates to process information
- Develop data models and concepts to serve as use case for software developers
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science or related field
- Active Secret Clearance
- US citizen
Desired Skills:
- Familiarity with and experience using SQL and querying relational databases
- Familiarity with Python or R programming languages
- Experience using Business Intelligence (BI) software (Tableau, Qlik, PowerBI) to develop dashboards and visualizations
- Experience with data cleansing, structuring, and integration (complex joins, unions, etc.)
- Experience developing data optimization models and/or machine learning models
- Knowledge of statistical techniques (ANOVA) and concepts
