Job description

Trilogy Federal is looking for a Junior Data Scientist to consult and deliver data-centered tasks. employee will be required to quickly develop an understanding of our customer's data-related challenges, provide solutions that consider the customer's specific requirements and constraints, and work with a cross-functional team to deliver timely and tangible results. You should also harness your technical skills such as data wrangling and analysis to directly assist clients with ad hoc data report and analysis tasks as well as support senior data team members in updating servers. 
Primary Responsibilities:
    • Design and maintain robust data structures vital for server upkeep, aligning with data engineering best practices. 
    • Collect, clean, and organize data from diverse sources, preparing it for in-depth data wrangling and mining activities. 
    • Utilize advanced data mining and extraction techniques to derive actionable insights from complex datasets. 
    • Conduct model validation and cross-validation to ensure accuracy and generalizability of data models. 
    • Generate clear, non-technical reports summarizing the outcomes, strengths, and limitations of projects, with a focus on data analysis results. 
    • Propose innovative applications of data insights to drive and inform strategic business decisions. 
    • Continuously update knowledge in data engineering, wrangling, and mining to maintain relevance and effectiveness in data processing and analysis. 
    • Work closely with clients to understand and define functional and data requirements, optimizing data reporting and analysis processes. 
    • Follow and refine established data engineering methodologies, analyzing and improving processes for enhanced performance and adaptability.  
Minimum Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, computer science, or similar. 
    • 4+ years' experience working with data and systems. 
    • Consultative mindset and demonstrated work experience providing solutions for clients and proactively collaborating with Stakeholders. 
    • Proficiency in R or Python. 
    • Proficiency in SQL. 
    • Proficient in maintaining and updating databases. 
    • Demonstrable history of devising and overseeing data-centered projects. 
    • Ability to relay insights in layman's terms, such that these can be used to inform business decisions. 
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Capacity to work independently or collaboratively with a cross-functional team. 
    • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance 
Preferred Qualifications:
    • VA experience preferred. 
    • Advanced degree in data science, statistics, computer science, or similar. 
    • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks/requests. 
    • Strong written and verbal communications skills 
    • Advanced knowledge in AWS/Azure and multiple program languages 
    • Supervision and mentorship skills.

$100,000 - $110,000 a year
This range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as Trilogy Federal conducts an individual equity review for every candidate based on experience, location, education, industry experience, and comparisons to internal pay bands. In addition to salary, Trilogy offers robust benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance coverage, 401(k) match, paid holidays, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and a very supportive work/life balance.
