The Junior Cost Accountant for Howden Roots, LLC. will provide financial support, reporting, and analysis for a growing revenue organization. Howden Roots, LLC. has a global sales operation and several manufacturing locations serving the market. The Junior Cost Accountant is expected to maintain defined supply chain metrics across the business and be a critical business partner. Thisrole provides support to the Finance team to drive profitability, process improvements, simplification, and compliance across the business. The role works directly with the Finance leadership as well as with the Project Managers. The Junior Cost Accountant must demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role, you will maintain and follow processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within a functional area of expertise, and contribute to the overall business strategy.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Perform all locking and unlocking to meet project requirements
- Evaluate projects for revenue recognition
- Complete Transactions required for revenue recognition
- Work with various departments to resolve minor problems preventing revenue recognition
- Escalate issues that employee is unable to resolve
- Perform accruals per budgets provided by Project managers
- Work Autonomously, Leveraging Colleagues for Support when needed
- Provide Report out of Revenue Performance on a Daily basis
- Hold meetings as necessary
- Handle Accounting Journal Entries when Required
Skills, Knowledge and Behaviors
- Ability to maintain high volume of manual transactions with data accuracy
- Closing execution / entries for inventory / variable costs
- Project Accruals
- Coding of Freight
- Working Knowledge of ERP Systems with Microsoft AX preferred
- Intermediate user of Microsoft Office Products
- Associate in Finance or Accounting Required, Bachelors preferred
- PC proficiency
