Position
The Junior Associate Trust & Estate Advisor is responsible for working with team members of the Rockefeller Trust Companies in reviewing trusts, wills and other contractual documents in connection with the inter-generational transfer of wealth. This role is a key member of the collaborative, team-centric approach to client servicing across the Wealth Management division and participating in business development efforts.
Responsibilities
• Assist in managing fiduciary relationships and apply knowledge of fiduciary and estate planning strategies to benefit current and prospective clients
• Support Senior Trust and Estate Advisor in managing day-to-day legal questions in connection with fiduciary accounts, particularly as they may relate to Delaware trust law, and in managing the onboarding of new fiduciary accounts
• Apply knowledge of fiduciary account management, taxations, securities transfer, and state and federal laws governing trusts and estates to balance the interests of the client, protect account assets, and minimize risk
• Identify additional areas of service to offer current clients and convert opportunities for additional service and new business into engagements for the firm
• Serve as a thought leader on trust advisory services by educating internal staff, speaking publicly within the specialty area, and writing articles for publication
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree
• JD required/LLM preferred
• Previous experience working with Delaware trusts
• 1-2 years of experience in trust servicing and administration
Skills
• Strong organization skills, attention to detail and the ability to multitask and reprioritize within tight deadlines
• Pragmatic problem-solver who enjoys educating advisors
• Excellent communication skills on complex matters, both written and oral
• Extensive knowledge of the trust and estate business
Compensation Range
The anticipated base salary range for this role is $95,000 to $110,000. Base salary for the role will depend on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience, and may fall outside of the range shown. In addition, this role may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
