ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The (Junior) Analyst is primarily responsible for accurately and timely preparing the quarterly provision, half-year and year end audit and US Federal income tax filings, FBAR filings and certain international income tax filings. In this position you will support the Senior manager in US (international) with tax planning and federal tax audit management, while also acting as a back-up for State tax compliance, TRACC and withholding tax and FATCA forms received by SES vendors.
You will be responsible for (this is not an exhaustive list):
- Federal Income Tax - Compliance and Planning:
- Prepare and timely file all Federal income tax returns, extension and estimated payments
- Review all inter-company transactions, forms 5472 and cross-reference with forms 1042-S to cross reference the reported information to ensure consistency in external reporting.
- Prepare all Federal foreign informational forms (including 5471's and 8858's)
- Prepare Federal form 1065 - Partnership return
- Prepare Form 8886 - Reportable Transactions
- Support Federal Tax Audits
- Identify planning opportunities and tracking of any new legislative updates that would impact SES's filing position.
- Support half year and year -end external financial audit
- Interact with the IRS to resolve all Federal issues and address all correspondences
- Prepare the quarterly Federal Tax Provision
- Communicate any tax issues that arise from business operation and promote tax awareness within jurisdictions under filing responsibility
- Manage all Federal Income Tax audits
- Act as a back-up to state income and franchise tax returns
- Non-US filing - Corporate Income Tax Compliance and audit support:
- Ensure accurate and timely filing of the following countries:
- Canada
- Mexico - Income tax filing, reporting and half year and year- end audit activities
- Gibraltar
- Singapore
- Australia
- FATCA and Withholding Tax - Preparation and Planning:
- Prepare all forms 1042, 1042-T and 1042-S
- Manage the execution of all Forms W-8BEN-E for all SES non-U.S. entities with focus on :
- Chapter 3 Withholding tax matters (i.e income sourcing and LoBs)
- Signatory authorisations based on the Corporate Registry
- Maintain and update the FATCA manual as needed to conform with any IRS law changes and any SES internal IT system and/or procedural changes
- Manage Withholding Tax Audits
- Act as a back-up on FATCA and withholding tax forms received by SES vendors
- Foreign Bank Account Reporting (FBAR):
- Prepare and file corporate FBAR return and SES employees' FBAR returns (3)
- Tax Return and Compliance Calendar (TRACC):
- Act as a back-up to the TRACC administrator
YOUR PROFILE:
Must Have
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- CPA or MST a plus
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Big 4, the tax compliance department of a multinational enterprise or a tax consultancy firm
- Technical conceptual understanding of both US domestic and international taxation
- Know-how in Financial statements; both US GAAP and IFRS

- Time management; ability to work under pressure and within fixed timeframes to meet deadlines
- Ability to utilise the working knowledge of FAS 109 to properly account for income tax provisions and the analysis of all book/tax differences for proper reporting on the various income tax returns
The base salary range for this full-time position is $65,000.00 - $73,000.00 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the target salary for new hires in Washington, DC Metro Area. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
