The Junior Accountant is an integral member of the General Ledger team reporting to the Assistant Corporate Controller. The position is responsible for recording, analyzing, and monitoring financial information, including balance sheet and profit and loss statements. The Junior Accountant supports the financial operations of the organization, assists with accounting tasks, and ensures accurate and timely recording of financial transactions. The Junior Accountant interacts with Senior Accountants and Controllers, as well as collaborating with cross-departments team members to provide information by deadlines. Critical thought, organization and communication will be key skills in this role.

Responsibilities of Position:
- General Accounting Tasks: Assist in various accounting activities, such as journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and maintain accurate cash records.
- Financial Data Entry: Accurately prepare and enter financial transactions into the accounting system. Analyze general ledger accounts, including accruals, to substantiate balances and record adjustments as needed.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
- Support Audits: Assist in the preparation for internal and external audits by providing requested financial data and documentation.
- Financial Reporting: Generate standard financial reports and provide support in creating ad-hoc financial analyses.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant accounting standards. Assist in the preparation of reports required by regulation.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
- Communication: Maintain a positive work atmosphere by performing and communicating in a manner that promotes good relationships with team members and management.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Abilities Needed for Position:
- Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and concepts.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and challenges.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and accounting software preferred.
Additional Working Conditions/Aspects:
- Ability to travel between offices, as required.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Valid driver’s license (if applicable).
- Must successfully complete pre-employment testing.
- Must be able to read and speak the English language.
