OVERVIEW: The Juice Utility Worker processes and prepares fruits and vegetables into juice products in a consistent and time effective manner while maintaining a safe and sanitary working environment. The Juice Utility Worker is also responsible for selecting product in a safe and efficient manner, which includes reading labels, placing product in the proper locations on pallets and preparing it for shipping. Selectors accomplish this by following standard work instructions and operating heavy equipment (pallet jacks/forklifts). The position is physically demanding and entails exposure to varying temperature zones.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS:
- Prepare raw product to be run through the machine.
- Tend or operate machine that produces product.
- Regulate machine flow, speed, or temperature.
- Stop machine when malfunctions occur, clear jams, and report malfunctions to a line lead or manager.
- Bottle finished product.
- Label bottles for finished product.
- Pack finished product into boxes.
- Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to standards.
- Transport raw materials, finished product, and packaging supplies around the facility.
- Adhere to standards and procedures according to Maglio Companies SOP's.
- Read labels to properly hand-select orders
- Validate product is free of spoilage and damages.
- Follow proper palletizing procedures.
- Build pallets of product for orders and wrap pallet when pallet/load is finished.
- Efficiently transport product throughout warehouse via pallet/hand jack.
- Other duties as assigned.
COMPETENCIES:
- Experience with forklifts and/or pallet jacks is preferred but not required
- Must be able to distinguish produce items
- Must have strong attention to detail for reading labels, selection, transfers, palletizing, etc.
- Must be able to adapt to a changing work environment
- Must have good attendance
- Must be able to follow verbal instructions and respond to management direction
Requirements
- Experience in a production environment; produce industry a plus but not required
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to read and write English
- No minimum experience is required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be frequently exposed to slippery, wet, and cold (35 degrees) conditions. The employees work will be done in a fast paced environment. To perform the duties of the job the employee will be required to use sharp knives and manufacturing kitchen equipment while following The Companies safety and food safety policies and procedures.
