Job Summary Under general direction, develops and leads daily instructional activities for NCOESC students in accordance with the school/campus's high expectations for all students and Ohio teaching standards. Creates methods to impart and reinforce lessons to students of all learning levels and abilities. Partners with appropriate school staff to assess and administer behavior management plans to positively reinforce NCOESC behavior and matriculation policies & standards. Ensures a nurturing and supportive environment for student learning.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
- Valid Ohio teaching license and required subject/grade level endorsements.
- Prior teaching experience helpful.
- Knowledgeable of Ohio education standards.
- Knowledgeable of school/campus learning resources.
- Strong relationship building, communication and presentation skills with school age children & parents/guardians. Good interpersonal relationship skills including cultural sensitivity & competence.
- Ability to use relational techniques and strategies to elicit positive behavior & compliance from students.
- Ability to efficiently multi-task on a daily basis.
- Knowledgeable of community resources.
- Proficiency with use of PC hardware & basic software (i.e. Microsoft office), email, and office equipment (i.e., copier, fax, scanner, telephone, etc.). Proficiency with NCOESC databases and classroom technologies (i.e. Smart Boards, etc.)
- Ability to preserve confidentiality of student information and records.
