Job Purpose and Overview

As a Quality Specialist, you will assist the Quality Manager in planning, coordinating, and implementation of Quality programs. Works to ensure product safety and quality through the use of established systems, HACCP, GMP’s, food safety teams and continuous improvement techniques. Responsible for auditing the products and processes at various points in the areas of production and packaging to ensure adherence to company quality standards. Communicate deviations to management. Assist the Quality Assurance Team with special projects as required.

 

Shift Schedule:Monday-Friday 5AM - 1:30PM

 

What will you do as a Quality Assurance Specialist at Dawn Foods? 

  • Ensures accurate and timely implantation as adherence to corporate Quality policies and programs to ensure the plant food safety and compliance with Dawn Food Products policies, Federal, State, and local laws.
  • Supports and promotes the Dawn Circle of Excellence, Mission Statement and Team Dawn.
  • Assists the Quality Manager with plant-wide compliance initiatives including FDA Good Manufacturing Practice, personal hygiene, HACCP, and Food Safety policies.
  • Supports Quality objectives and helps coordinate objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other managers and supervisors to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.  
  • Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications for Continuous improvement in quality and reliability of finished product.
  • Make suggestions for improvements to environmental control practices where needed.
  • Plans, promotes, and organizes training activities related to product quality and reliability.
  • Establish and maintain good communications with all Dawn Team Members.

 

What Does It Take to be an Quality Assurance Specialist at Dawn Foods?  

Below are the minimum qualifications to be a fit for this job.  

  • Bachelor's Degree (accredited) or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and two years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in food, beverage and/or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Experience in HACCP, FDA, AIB, GMP, and SAP.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft office such as Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Experience in root cause analysis and developing continuous improvement teams.

  • Required to use motor coordination with arm, hand, finger, and leg dexterity.

  • Ability to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to withstand cool and/or cold temperatures.
  • Normal setting for this job is plant/office.
  • Will be exposed to a physical environment, which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements most of the workday.

Compensation: $63,780 – $98,230
