Midland Asphalt Materials Inc., a subsidiary of Barrett Industries Corporation, provides advanced pavement preservation solutions for our customers' needs. We are currently looking for a Staff Accountant out of our Tonawanda, NY location. Salary range $62,000-$68,000 DOE.
- Analyze and track costs associated with specific projects or jobs within the company.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of all project costs, including materials, labor, and overhead expenses.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to gather data and provide detailed reports on project costs, profitability, and variances.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting for future projects, providing insights and recommendations for cost control and efficiency improvements.
- Reconcile project costs with general ledger accounts and perform cost audits.
- Participate in financial analysis and decision-making processes.
- Maintain documentation and records related to Job Cost accounting activities.
- Audit contracts, orders, and vouchers, and prepare reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement.
- Perform other duties as requested by the Regional Controller
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Prior experience in Job Costing a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in accounting software and tools.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of relevant accounting principles and regulations.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- JDE software experience a plus.
- Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record
