Avant Garde Jewelers is a local family-owned jewelry store in Austin since 1976. We are full service, and our specialty is custom jewelry design, jewelry repair/restoration, and fine jewelry. We are looking for someone to join our family and is eager to help with the day-to-day duties of running a fast-paced jewelry store and giving our customers an overall excellent experience. We have an opening on the administrative side of our custom design team. Must have a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and dependability are absolute musts. There is no such phrase as, "That's not my job." here. We all pitch in to do whatever it takes and to keep every customer happy and willing to return. We pride ourselves on customer loyalty and outstanding customer service is a given.
Job Details
- Carry out administrative portion of the custom design process
- Maintain customer records, filing, printing/scanning, and stores filing system
- Answer and direct phone calls and emails
- Organize and schedule appointments
- Assist with coordinating repairs
- Greet customers and assist them with showing jewelry, placing orders and check out
- Perform store opening and closing procedures, including putting out jewelry in the morning and storing jewelry at night
- Assist with keeping the store cleaned and always maintained
- Must love jewelry and gemstones, and dedicated to learning about merchandise
Qualifications
- 1+ years jewelry retail experience (preferred)
- Strong customer service skills
- Must be able to work weekends, flexible schedule
- Some college, High School (preferred)
- Must be a team player
- Knowledge of jewelry and jewelry terms
- Proven experience as an administrative assistant
- Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
- Proficient in MS Office
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
