Flow Automotive of Charlottesville is seeking a full-time janitor for maintaining a clean, presentable, dealership. The janitor performs general, routine, cleaning of the facilities, including sweeping, mopping, periodic waxing, vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning of restrooms and break rooms and restocking paper and soap supplies. The janitor also orders supplies and performs routine maintenance of janitorial equipment.
It is important for the janitor to report to work on time and to communicate openly with management personnel on items that affect facilities cleanliness and overall maintenance.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Clean building areas, including floors, walls, doorways, windows, and other surfaces, using appropriate cleaning agents, applicators, and cleaning devices.
- Stand and walk for most of the shift
- Bend, climb, reach for, lift, and move at least 50 pounds.
- Clean and disinfect various surfaces.
- Use proper eye, hand, and body protection when using products that require protection.
- Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
- Report any safety issues immediately to management.
- Exercise good organizational skills.
- Read work instructions of moderate complexity.
- Take on other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A working knowledge of safety guidelines when using chemical cleaners.
- Experience handling and operating machinery, such as motorized floor scrubbers and sweepers.
- A high school diploma or G.E.D.
