Organization: Kai Ming, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that provides free full-day full-year, and full-day part-year Head Start and Early Head Start services to eligible children ages 0-5 years old in San Francisco, CA with funding from Head Start, the California Department of Education, First 5 San Francisco and San Francisco Office of Early Care & Education.

Report to: Executive AssistantJob: This IT Technician is responsible for the overall coordination and daily operations of management and IT-related tasks for Kai Ming Head Start Administration Office and Centers. This position will be the point of contact that provides technical support for day-to-day IT issues, and troubleshoots office, classroom, and event equipment, including but not limited to projectors, microphones, laptops, workphones, digital signage, and video conferencing. The IT Technician must be proficient, organized, and passionate about learning new technologies and services. Must get along well and work in harmony with others, in the spirit of collaboration and teamwork. It is also responsible for working with external vendors to maintain the integrity of multiple data systems and sometimes overseeing the progress of system development.
Essential Duties:
Work as a primary point of contact for agency-wide IT and system issues to ensure wifi, phones, faxes, and printers are functioning on a daily basis.
Conducts weekly site visits and provides on-site IT troubleshooting/support for all locations
Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software applications.
Upgrade systems to enable compatible software.
Install and upgrade antivirus software.
Test and evaluate new technology.
Perform tests on new hardware and software.
Conduct Monthly/Quarterly E-waste for all sites.
Manage and ensure having up-to-date addresses on the printers
Troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
Analyze IT requirements and provide objective advice on the use of IT.
Set up new user accounts and profiles and handle password issues.
Manage IT inventory on site with an external vendor.
Evaluate and recommend new technology solutions to improve efficiency.
Assesses the need for computer or software training in the organization. Training needs may include support for new hires, for employees in new roles or with new assignments, and for organization-wide training on new software, programs, or company-wide information technology (IT) system changes or policies.
Provides feedback to management when modifications could improve the user-friendliness of the programs, applications, and processes.
Develop overall IT implementation plans and provide suggestions for new systems.
Lead IT-related projects or new system implementation.
Be familiar with macOS MDM user control and management.
Ensure agency-wide cyber security and provide cyber security training to staff.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
B.A. degree in computer science or engineering or related field
IT related Certifications preferred
3-5 years of experience in a similar role
Experience troubleshooting systems
Skilled in database programming, software installation, and system security
Provide technical support to staff at our centers and travel to sites within San Francisco (50% - 80% travel)
Proficient with macOS
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Zoom
Highly analytical with strong problem solving skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Able to lift up to 50 pounds
Positive attitude, detail, and customer-oriented with good multitasking and organizational ability
Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
