Position Overview
Your role is to support and streamline the day-to-day operations of the IT department. The IT Technician will provide technical assistance and training to SPC team members on the use of hardware, software, AV and communication equipment. This position has a multitude of duties and responsibilities for a well-rounded IT Technician.
Key Qualifications
- Understands technology requirements and processes, tools and outcomes in accounting, pre-construction, construction, close out, and post construction activities.
- Ensures all SPC team members are competent in the use of technology in their role.
- Ability to communicate regularly with SPC team members regarding processes and lessons learned.
- Excellent verbal and written skills to communicate technical information to a wide range of end users.
- Collaborative with SPC department leaders and identify areas for improvement and innovation.
- Serve as the main point of contact for technology processes, tools, and related issues working collaboratively with project team members (i.e. Client, CM, Architect, Engineers, Landlord, and Subcontractors etc.)
- Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational policy.
Description
- Ensure technology is used effectively and consistently throughout projects teams and departments.
- Review RFP's and contracts for technology requirements.
- Be engaged and provide technology support with deadlines the company is facing (RFP responses, bid deadlines, team interviews, field office set up, etc.)
- Assist Pre-Con department with RFP’s, presentations, and deliverables as needed.
- Issue end user network accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations.
- Manage the admin portals for the following services: Office 365, Adobe, PlanGrid, Office 1, Verizon, Cirasync, NEC, Planswift, SmartBid, etc
- Monitor and manage Barracuda Spam Filter
- Monitor and manage Cybersecurity Awareness Training
- Respond to all Phishing Attacks.
- Monitor, maintain, and manage all end points not monitored by MSP. (Servers and workstations)
- Monitor the system daily and respond immediately to security or usability concerns.
- Manage the physical environment of the server racks including cable management, documentation, labeling, and configuration of KVM switching for console and remote access.
- Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, updates, and support of all IT systems, including telecommunications, desktops, laptops/tablets, printers, AV equipment, and office equipment.
- Ensure the company’s IT policies and procedures are adhered to- including security, backup/recovery, asset management, and purchasing.
- Respond and resolve all IT issues and concerns to all applicable staff members.
- Periodically verify virus protection systems are installed and functioning on all employee laptops/workstations.
- Network Management – Meraki Access Points.
- Create, manage and terminate employee accounts as required.
- Set up new or relocate users as required when assigned to new work area. This would include breaking down, transporting, and setting up equipment, checking connectivity, and ensuring satisfactory operation of systems.
- Configure and install hardware/software AV and communication equipment at jobsites.
- Provide training to employees through classroom, remote or in person sessions on the use of hardware/software, and telecommunications equipment.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive matters, materials, and proprietary information.
- Assist with SPC website maintenance and upgrades
- Manage, Order, Track IT equipment and supply inventory
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with office equipment such as copiers, printers, video conferencing, telecommunication equipment, etc
- Review IT invoices, contract renewals, etc.

Education/Experience
- 5+ years of experience in the technology IT support industry
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
- Certifications and experience may be considered in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree
- Knowledge in VBA/Scripting.
- Familiarity with various OS and platforms.
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft exchange, Active Directory, Recovery procedures, and system performance monitoring.
- Familiarity with the construction is a plus.
- Expertise in Microsoft 365, Project, and Power Point.
- Knowledge of project management software, Procore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, etc.

In accordance with California’s Labor Code Section 432.3, the base salary range for this position is $65,000 - $90,000. Compensation in other cities may vary. The determination of salary is based on the candidate’s individual professional project portfolio, project size & complexity, capabilities, qualifications, education, skills, years of experience, etc.
