ABOUT THE IT SYSTEMS ENGINEER - HEALTHCARE
Upperline Health is seeking a highly motivated and experienced IT Systems Engineer to join our growing IT team. In this role, you will play a key role in supporting our critical healthcare systems and ensuring their reliability, performance, and security. Upperline is looking for strong performers who are self-starters, problem solvers, have exceptional attention to detail, and who are eager to tackle problems and tasks, both big and small. What You’ll Do
- Design, implement and manage Windows and Linux systems and Azure cloud environments for our healthcare organization.
- Lead Microsoft 365 administration, migration initiatives, and tenant-to-tenant transitions.
- Provide excellent technical support to clinics, doctors, and nurses.
- Migrate legacy EMR systems and on-prem data centers to standard and cloud services.
- Maintain cybersecurity protections adhering to healthcare compliance regulations.
- Identify and remediate system vulnerabilities and risk assessments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor to major hardware, software, and networking issues.
- Identify process improvement opportunities across the organization leveraging technology systems and solutions.
- Maintain inventory requirements for all end user devices.
- Assist in identifying resolution gaps within technology.
- Support and maintain effective relationships with multiple levels throughout the organization.
- Act as a primary contributor or manager on projects and special assignments.
- Maintain and create company knowledge base articles.
- Work with external vendors or contractors (existing and new) with limited supervision.
- Develop technical training content and present to team members across the organization.
- Document IT processes, procedures and infrastructure through PowerShell/Python scripts.
- Research latest healthcare technologies and trends in cloud, networking, and security.
Qualifications of the IT Systems Engineer
- 2+ years in healthcare IT administration, preferably in a clinic/hospital environment; Microsoft certifications highly preferred.
- Strong administration and troubleshooting experience with healthcare IT systems - EMRs, PACs, telehealth platforms, etc.
- 2+ years administering Microsoft Azure environments.
- Expert in Microsoft 365 administration and migration tasks.
- Extensive experience porting email platforms, networks, and hardware.
- Expertise in Azure AD, SQL, PowerShell, and Python scripting.
- Exceptional customer support mentality with some help desk exposure.
- Creative problem-solver who takes initiative and works independently.
- Passion for staying on top of healthcare IT/security innovations.
- Multi-year experience managing ticketing systems and workflow management
- Experience with:
- Supporting remote users
- Mobile Device Management (MDM) applications (Meraki, Jamf, & InTune)
- Maintaining and monitoring enterprise level security patching
- Popular project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, ITIL)
- Working in a hybrid environment of on-premises and cloud-based systems
- Senior experience with:
- Multiple operating systems (Windows, iOS, OSx, Android, Linux)
- Microsoft Endpoint Manager leveraging AutoPilot and other advanced features
- API Integrations across multiple products & platforms
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed, which could include working after or before business hours.
- Project Management experience is a plus.
