As IT Systems Administrator, you will:

Provide technical network support

Be the front line for companywide computer issues and trainings

Seek out ways to enhance existing computer systems by determining appropriate software solutions and identifying areas for improvement

Perform minor repairs on existing PC hardware and/or procure vendor solutions

Monitor and respond to security tool alerts

Assist cross-functional teams with system integrations

Actively pursue best practices for security posture

General Summary of the Position

This position is responsible for providing direct support to staff for network, security, hardware, and software issues.  Other responsibilities include maintaining the company network (wired and wireless), managing servers, services, and printers, implementing and overseeing network security, usage and monitoring of servers and workstations, and review and testing of backup and recovery procedures.

• Follow all written policies and procedures.
• Respond to user requests for service, troubleshoot problems, and help resolve computer issues.
• Perform minor repairs to equipment and arrange for other servicing needs.
• Identify and report system issues to vendors. Monitor and test resolution of those issues sent to vendors.
• Must be able to use typical office equipment including, but not limited to, telephone, fax machine, copier, and computer.
• May be required to lift items up to 15 pounds in weight.
• Must be able to sit for extended periods of time at a desk.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to handle multiple simultaneous tasks without loss of quality, efficiency, safe practices, or other critical standards of performance.
• Ability to demonstrate effective organizational skills and exceptional customer service skills.
• Ability to demonstrate a self-motivated and cooperative approach to peers and other team members.
• Support PC hardware components, desktop operation system software, and application software.
• Provide technical support for the network including router, firewall, and wireless access points.
• Monitor antivirus, malware, and EDR software, confirming or installing updates, and repairing computers infected with spyware, adware, or viruses.
• Monitor backup systems and procedures to ensure data security.
• Record activities, solutions, and other responses to requests for service.
• Ability to work well independently with minimal supervision.
• Possess a keen interest in computer-based information systems and technology.
• Ability to perform tasks such as operating systems and application software installations and upgrades, as well as virus protection and eradication.
• Assisting users in determining appropriate software solutions to meet needs.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment consistent with training and Company standards.
• Develop and provide user training for basic hardware and software use.
• Maintain open communication and positive working relationships with staff.

Education, Training, and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or
• Associate’s degree or professional certifications such as CompTIA or Microsoft (Microsoft Certified IT Professional, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), and three to five years of related work experience
• Preferred: A+, Security+, Networking + certifications.
