The Oklahoma City Thunder’s IT department is looking for an experienced and customer-focused Systems Administrator to join our team! As the IT Systems Administrator, you will protect our critical systems and assets, build solutions, implement new software and hardware solutions, deliver training, and assist in developing the overall IT and IT security strategy. In this position you will work with IT personnel and internal/external teams on projects, provide customer support, and assist with NBA game day technology.
In this role you will:
- Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of Thunder servers and cloud infrastructure
- Develop and support organizational security standards and preventative measures
- Monitor regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
- Proactively monitor systems to ensure availability, security, and integrity
- Manage and contain information security incidents and events
- Manage user accounts, credentials, permissions, access rights, and active directory administration
- Support DevOps and Data Analytics infrastructure, tools, and staff
- Assist the help desk with troubleshooting to identify root cause, and provide technical support when needed
- Assist with gameday or Thunder event setup and technology
- Independently research upcoming products, service protocols, and standards
- Deliver concise and clear verbal and written communication at all organizational levels
- Document systems and processes using FreshService and helpdesk ticketing system
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work or military experience in related field
- 5 years progressive experience managing and supporting on premise and cloud infrastructure
- 3+ years administrative experience with AWS, Azure, Office 365 and other cloud providers as well as Windows Server and SAN administration
- 3+ years experience designing, configuring, and administering virtualized environments
- Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to work patiently and consistently with people at all levels of the organization in a support and training role
- Manage and schedule multiple projects on ongoing basis with ability to prioritize and work independently or as a team member
- Work calmly and efficiently under pressure, adverse conditions, in a dynamic fast-paced environment that may include high stress or demanding deadlines
- Experience implementing cybersecurity standards and system hardening in order to meet internal or regulatory policies
- Familiar with security compliance and related security scanning products
- Solid understanding and experience with enterprise data backup, disaster recovery planning and enterprise networking across multiple sites
- Proficient in Windows, MacOS, iOS, and Android platforms in an enterprise environment
- Highly organized with good time management and problem solving skills and attention to detail
- Maintain the integrity of highly confidential information and sensitive data and systems
Additional details:
Work location will be the Thunder corporate office located in downtown Oklahoma City at Paycom Center. Work schedule will include business hours, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed for home games and events. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are needed for occasional local travel. Physical requirements of the job may include lifting approximately 20 pounds, working long shifts, traversing stairs or ladders and working in-arena during games which may include loud music, crowd noise and flashing or strobe lights. This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Manager, IT Systems and Security. Employees are encouraged to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
