Pomeroy is looking for a skilled IT Support Technician for a 6-12 month contract in our Des Moines, Iowa location. This is a fully onsite role. 

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities: As an IT Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing technical support to end-users within a service desk environment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to end-users' inquiries regarding technology issues, including incident recognition, research, isolation, and follow-up steps for first and second-tier issues.
  • Utilizing incident management database and IT Remedy systems to support end-point devices of the client's network.
  • Recommending systems modifications/configurations to reduce user problems.
  • Providing IT-related employee communications and delivering training/presentations on various aspects of technology and its application in the company.
  • Creating documentation and knowledgebase articles to enhance support efficiency.
  • Consulting with other information technology personnel to coordinate activities related to testing and implementing new technology.
  • Participating actively in user testing, implementing, document creation, and communication for the information technology department and end-users.
  • Offering after-hours support and performing additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.

Qualifications: 

  • Knowledge of M365, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Client/server, network, mainframe, and applications environment.
  • Demonstrated aptitude in incident recognition and troubleshooting.
  • Strong customer verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
  • Availability for on-call responsibilities on a rotating basis.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without accommodation.
