JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for analysis, implementation and maintenance of computer and auxiliary operations to support client interfaces and information supply and exchange. This includes the ongoing evaluation of the systems with a continuing effort to improve and enhance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- The incumbent is responsible for procurement and maintenance of all communication systems. This includes the communications network and the ongoing evaluation of the systems with a continuing effort to improve and enhance.
- Develop a departmental operating budget and maintain that budget throughout an ongoing analysis and control of all related expenditures.
- Provide technical support services for the users of associated hardware and auxiliary support devices.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the department’s related standards, policies, and operating procedures.
- Create and implement a plan to further educate the department in order to take advantage of the latest technologies. This would include any necessary ongoing training and motivating of departmental personnel and a plan to record and disseminate information with other departments.
- Develop and maintain a system of communicating statuses, developments, and information related to the department’s operations and responsibilities.
- Continued awareness of new and improved technology, both in the field of information technology as well as other fields related to the transportation industry, is necessary to ensure that the Company remains highly competitive.
- A complete understanding of the responsibilities and procedures of each department, as well as related companies or organizations, is required to ensure that the individual needs of the user are met effectively and efficiently. Additionally, this knowledge is essential in realizing the Company’s overall goals and priorities.
- Consistent maintenance and administration of communication systems to ensure uninterrupted service, including all EDI activity.
- Regularly monitor performance of all related hardware to ensure continual and optimum operational effectiveness and efficiency.
- Continual evaluation of the overall system, as well as monitoring of each department’s requirements and objectives is necessary to ensure that the Company remains highly effective, efficient, and competitive.
- Set up preventative maintenance and service programs with equipment vendors. Ensure continuous maintenance and service contracts in effect on all departmental equipment.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
BS or BA degree, or 2-year Associates degree with equivalent IT experience
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 3 years managerial experience
- Project Management of IT projects and initiatives
- Active directory administration
- Office O365 and Azure administration
- Network operating systems and TCP/IP
- VoIP phone systems or PBX
- Familiarity with operating VMWare, ESX/vSphere management, SQL server, Linux

- Coordinates service delivery with other IT leaders and Project Managers
- Initiates and evaluates required business process improvements in order to achieve business results and appropriate solutions for customers
- Demonstrated strong analytical skills, problem solving skills, and design skills
- Ability to lead the effort of design, development, and code reviews
- Ability to work with a diverse group of people, be open to ideas of others, and change directions quickly if necessary for project success
- Strong ability to develop functional analysis and design specifications

- Thorough follow-up and focus on issue until resolved and summary on closed issues
- Experience supporting Operations Technology (OT) or IT in industrial environments
- IT Service Desk supervisory or managerial experience
