It Security Specialist

We are seeking an IT Security Specialist to join our team! You will implement security measures for the protection of computer networks and information.

Responsibilities:

• Secure network, storage, and infrastructure for research to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data.
• Ensure compliance with privacy, financial transactions, and student data regulations and policies.
• Develop and implement security policies and procedures to protect the organization from cyber threats.
• Monitor and analyze security events and incidents to identify potential security breaches.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to implement security controls and best practices.
• Identify, evaluate, and recommend new security technologies and solutions.
• Conduct regular security assessments and audits to ensure compliance with security policies and regulations.
• Develop and deliver security awareness training and education for all employees.
• Maintain business partner relationships with a portfolio of assigned organizational units to understand their needs within this responsibility domain and meet their requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

​Qualifications:

• Knowledge of IT security best practices, standards, and regulations, including HIPAA, FERPA, GLBA, and NIST.
• Experience with security technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and vulnerability scanners.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
