JOB TITLE:Senior Scrum Leader
DEPARTMENT: IT - Project Management
STATUS: EXEMPT
JOB CODE: 10056
PAY SCALE:$120,000.00 - $140,000.00 Annually
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Senior Scrum Leader will be responsible for interfacing with various business partners to establish sound technology requirements and help them to devise various strategies to meet multiple business needs. Responsibilities will include acting as a liaison between client area and technical organization by planning, conducting, and directing the analysis of the most complex, strategic, corporate-wide business problems to be solved with automated systems.
TASKS, DUTIES, FUNCTIONS:
  1. Facilitating the scrum process on scrum teams with cross-functional impacts that involve moderately complex project, non-project, or maintenance work.
  2. Guide the scrum team(s) and organization to follow generally accepted Agile/Scrum practices and daily activities to actively promote prioritization, team readiness, and commitment for each Sprint.
  3. Uses empirical data to help the team(s) assess their Scrum Maturity, optimize scrum team velocity to organizational KPIs, and identify improvement opportunities to achieve higher levels of team performance.
  4. Pro-actively address systemic impediments to team agility and guides the team(s) on methods to escalate when needed to prevent challenges from becoming blockers.
  5. Coach scrum team(s) to deliver capabilities using agile practices while also following the Software Development Lifecycle, business process mapping, and various release processes as appropriate to ensure all risk, security, and development requirements are met.
  6. Partner with discipline managers to convey their concerns to scrum teams about governance policies and adherence to corporate standards.
  7. Partner with Product Owner(s) to ensure continuous refinement of backlog, which may include stories from multiple projects.
  8. If Business POs are not yet named, liaise with Business Users and server as Product Owner Proxy for them as well as technology scrum team
  9. Completion of some work may depend on non-agile work teams.
  10. Drives Scrum adoption across all levels in the organization.
  11. Facilitates and is accountable for owning the Scrum Agile ceremonies for the scrum team(s).
  12. Partners with Product owners, Program or Project Managers to communicate delivery of work product from the scrum team and escalates key risks and issues impeding scrum team effectiveness.
  13. Identifies skills and competencies of scrum team members and makes adjustments accordingly to promote development and highly effective teams.
  14. Work closely with technical and non-technical resources to ensure system compatibility and user satisfaction is met.
  15. Perform evaluations of existing applications for reuse and standardization across the enterprise. Proactively seek opportunities to optimize and enhance current technology portfolio, capabilities, and processes.
  16. Act as liaison between business clients and technical staff throughout the life cycle of projects or process improvements. Coordinate effectively with IT and other departmental projects analysts and managers.
  17. Stay current with technology trends, solutions and vendors.
  18. Oversee technical implementations to ensure they meet business requirements.
  19. Perform other job-related duties as necessary.
  20. Maintain a thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to credit union compliance including bank secrecy and anti-money laundering laws appropriate to the position.

PHYSICAL SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXERTION UTILIZED IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THESE TASK:
  1. Effective oral and written communication skills required to interpret, resolve, and document networking problems.
  2. Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully operate an on-line computer terminal and other standard office equipment, such as financial calculators, personal computer, facsimile machine and telephone.
  3. Occasional local, statewide and inter-state travel may be required.
  4. Periodically work extended hours, night and weekend hours.
  5. Ability to work under pressure.
  6. Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment such as PC, copy and fax machines and telephones.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
  2. EXPERIENCE: Minimum: seven years or more of experience as a Scrum Leader and Project Manager in an agile software development environment.
  3. KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:
    • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
    • Proven success in delivering projects within budget and specified timeframes, while ensuring customer satisfaction
    • Proven problem solving skills from problem assessment to solution selection
    • Ability to identify alternatives and make contingency plans
    • Capacity to embrace change and quickly adapt to new situations, changes in direction, and altering priorities
    • Proven ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment
    • Ability to handle multiple projects and assignments
    • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking, providing options and recommendations relating to resolving issues, mitigating risks, and resolving escalated items
    • Proficient in Microsoft Project and/or Azure DevOps, TFS, Jira

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Carry and respond to a cell phone 7 days a week. May be able to diagnose problems from home, occasionally may need to travel to site to correct problem either by car or public conveyance.
  2. Prolonged sitting throughout the day.
  3. Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully operate applicable computer hardware, software and a variety of hand tools and standard office equipment.
  4. Corrected vision in the normal range.
  5. Corrected hearing in the normal range. A telephone device will be provided if needed.
  6. Occasional bending, stooping, and standing on a stepladder.
  7. Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:
    1. A valid California Driver's License is required.
    2. Advanced technical and/or Project Management certifications (Desired)
    3. Certified Scrum Master (CSM) (Required)
    4. PMP Certified (Preferred)
