THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE: 

The Principal Architect is responsible for managing the strategy, design, implementation, and improvement of Enterprise Applications. The Enterprise Applications scope includes SAP ECC, SAP S/4 Hana, SAP Warehouse Management, SAP CAR, SAP MIA (backend), SAP Material Management, SAP Sales & Distribution, SAP ERP integrations with Manhattan WMOS, Merchandising Applications like DFIO (SWIFT), Allocation (JDA/BlueYonder), and HR.

 

This individual will provide thought leadership on how IT can enable Ulta to provide market differentiation and will need to be an innovative thinker who is able to envision how technology can be leveraged to solve complex business problems.

 

This individual will work closely with cross-functional business and IT teams in a highly collaborative, dynamic, and fast-paced environment to architect well-designed solutions that lower business and IT risk, increase reuse, and lower the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).  Assignments may vary from well-defined, long-term projects to ad-hoc work requests that are critical to business success. 

 

YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH THESE GOALS BY: 

• SAP Application Architecture Leadership: Provide expertise, and application solutions for overall Ulta SAP end-to-end landscape including SAP ECC, SAP S/4 Hana implementation across Finance, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Procurement, Master Data, HR, and Store Inventory Movements (MIA). All interdependent back-office applications are executing optimally.
• Architecture Review: Run the Design Forum, work with SAP Max Attention, and participate in the Architecture Review Board to ensure that solutions are governed appropriately. Architecture design for future and existing solutions, ensures that the technology components used fit with the overall technology strategy. Ensure also that the architecture is communicated, understood, and adhered to.
• Solution Architecture & Integration: Lead the development of architectures for complex systems, ensuring consistency with specified requirements agreed with both external and internal customers while balancing between functional, service quality, and systems management needs. Ensure that appropriate standards (corporate, industry, national and international) are adhered to.
• IT Strategy & Planning: Lead the definition, implementation, communication of the IT Enterprise Applications strategic management framework and oversee the creation and review of an IT strategy and plans to support the strategic requirements of the business. This includes the overall SAP technology roadmap and alignment with the ULTA Technology roadmap
• Automation and Network Expansion: Lead overall design and application solution to support future Supply Chain Network strategy including Distribution Center Automation, New initiatives like Market Fulfillment Center, utilizing stores as fulfillment nodes, etc., and other strategies.
• Relationship Management: Champion the strategy to understand stakeholder objectives and requirements, lead relationship management with the most senior stakeholders, and act as the ultimate escalation for all SAP Application issue resolution.
• IT Governance: Lead the development and communication of the organization's policies for corporate governance of information, advise on strategic plans to satisfy the current and ongoing needs of the organization's business strategy and the current and future capabilities, and champion policies, practices, and decisions which recognize the current and evolving needs of all the stakeholders.
• Innovation/Research: Set research goals, advise on effective proposals for the investment of funds in projects, manage, monitor, and seek opportunities, new methods, trends, capabilities and products to the advancement of the organization.
• SAP Functional Expertise: Possesses expert knowledge of SAP Applications and Solution Architecture for SAP ECC, SAP S/4 HANA, SAP – Warehouse Mgmt (WM), SAP - Logistics Execution (LE), SAP - Sales&Distribution (SD), SAP - Material Management (MM), SAP - Customer Activity Repository (CAR), SAP - Ariba, and Finance & HR.

 

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Trusted partner on projects, solving problems, influencing decisions, and recommending solutions while considering current and future roadmap direction. Able to evaluate, and recommend new tools, technologies, methodologies, and solutions.
• Partners with IT teams including SAP Technology, Infrastructure, Security, and Functional teams to identify emerging technologies and evaluate their application value. Able to provide guidance, and mentorship to cross-functional technical teams as required.
• Advises on significant level improvements and measurable business benefits by identifying, proposing, initiating, and leading significant programs of improvement and system support.
• Performs the analysis of business processes, including recognition of the potential for automation of the processes, assessment of the costs and potential benefits of the new approaches considered, and, where appropriate, management of change, and assistance with implementation.
• Lead business requirements workshops to design and roll out S/4 HANA solutions to fit Ulta's requirements.

ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or applicable work experience.
• 15+ years of overall experience in information technology including architecture, design and development.
• 15+ years of experience in architecting, planning, managing, delivering, implementing, supporting, training, administering, and/or monitoring in SAP ERP solutions in a complex business environment.
• The ability to present advanced technical ideas to a non-technical audience effectively and succinctly.
• The ability to matrix manage resources who have direct reporting relationships to another director peer in the infrastructure group for specific projects.
• Ability to work independently, as a member of a team, or as a team lead. Methodical, hands-on, detail-oriented approach to problem-solving.
• A proven track record of managing and delivering large-scale enterprise IT projects.
• Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to multi-task and adapt quickly to change.
• Possess a strong work ethic and take pride in producing a quality product.

The pay range for this position is $136100.00 - $232000.00 / Year with the opportunity for eligible associates to earn additional compensation pursuant with the Company's bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including but not limited to relevant education qualifications certifications experience level shift geographic location and business and organizational needs.
